Ten year old granddaughter spent the night with us last night adn we were watchin the Olympics. Swimmers were eing announced and when they said such and such from Australia, Beki said "MamMoo, people in Australia dress weird." I told her I was born in Australia and my Mom was Australian and I didn't think I dressed weird. She said "but we were watching the beach volleyball and the australians were wearing their bars on the outside of their shirts. They get dressed and then put on their bras.
I could hardly keep a stragiht face. I explained to her that the ladies wear bikinis to play beach VB and that it was so chilly in London they had to wear shirts. I had noticed several teams wearing their bikini tops on the outside of their t shirts, but no idea why. Told Beki that they may be doing for ID purposes, or that they feel it is not being in uniform to be outthere without that bikini top on.
But really, Australian ladies do nto put on their shrit or dress and then put on a bra. That was strictly being done in the olympics becaue it was to cold for just the bikini top.
