It's definitely not a sunny Saturday here. Light rain, mid-50's, not scheduled to improve. To keep warm, I'm wearing fuzzy slippers and a sweatshirt, and Ruby is all curled up under her fleece blanket. It's good weather for all the indoor tasks I want to tackle today, but it's not doing much for my energy level.
Doug, I'd completely forgotten about how they used to throw candy from the firetrucks during our annual July 4th parade in my hometown back in CT. We lived on the block where the parade route passed, so we parked our butts on the curb early and were ready to catch whatever we could. I remember Tootsie Rolls and Bazooka bubble gum being favorites. I hope your grandson and the other kids have a successful haul!
A few minutes ago there was a bright yellow goldfinch on the feeder, and a hummingbird came hovering over -- so close, I thought he was going to land on the feeder, too. DH said maybe he thought the goldfinch was a flower that he could dine on. We do have a hummingbird feeder a few feet away from the thistle feeder, so maybe the hummingbird just got a bit lost!
Well, clothes are ready to go in the dryer, and I've got to clean our bathroom, so on to the fun for me!
Oh, I hope Riley had a comfortable night and is feeling good this morning. Reading Lisa's description of yesterday nearly made me cry -- for her worry over Riley being so upset, and for all the other families she mentioned. I hope there are special angels watching over all those parents and kids.
