    Sunny Saturday Chat

ok, well,it's wishful thinking for me at the moment, but I'm ok w/that.  We had some thunderstorms come thru to cut the heat, but they left behind clouds and still plenty of humidity.  Maybe later this morning I'll have a good reason to go sit in my lawn chair in the training field and get some color.

I got a pedicure after work yesterday and it's the best $25 I've spent in a long time.  They did a parafin wax, too.  Aaahh, so relaxing.  My pink toes are ready for the weekend.

In the meantime, maybe I'll go read yesterday's MC.  Good morning all!  Hope it's the start of a great weekend  !

I'd love to get a pedicure but never seem to take the time.  So relaxing.  I hope the sun makes an appearance for you today, Paige.

We've certainly got plenty of sunshine here and are looking at temps in the upper 90's this weekend and 100's next week.  Oh the joy of summer.

Nothing exciting planned for our weekend.  Farmers Market and some routine Saturday errands.  I dreamt that Belle had pooped in her crate last night and made a huge mess of herself and was so relieved to wake up to the realization that is was a dream.

We ate at a restaraunt we hadn't been to in a few years last night.  The food was ok and service was spotty but the drinks were fantastic.  We're so easy to please it's pitiful. lol

Yawn, so sleepy. We had storms from 6-ish last night until 9 and then severe storms from midnight until 2:30 am. Both sets of storms were chuck full of lightning so Beastie was a mess. The last few storms didn't have much lightning so even though he wasn't thrilled he was fine. Anyway I was up with him from midnight and surfing the net at 3 am. Yawn.

It is sunny here though Paige and only due to be in the low 90's. I am trying to get myself feeling awake enough to go kayaking

I could sleep for another 3 hours.

I have never had a pedi in my life. Weird, I know. But now that you talk about pink toes, I think I will paint mine today.

I am going to sand my deck today. I wish I had a deck boy for that.

I won a few things in the auction yesterday. Yay. A couple fancy new martingale collars and a dog bed. I don't have any dog beds so I figured what the heck. The dogs will be happy.

Little bit of cloud cover here, but nice. Piper will enjoy her walk. Our local festival is this weekend. Carnival rides, tractor pulls, demo derby, and a hughe parade that starts lining up in my front yard. Two of the grandkids will be here to watch. Grandsons first parade was a learning curve. He didn't understand the candy that flew at him, until the second fire truck passed him. Then, he figured the trick--make eye contact with the driver, wave to him, catch candy. Kid really enjoys parades now.

LOL!  Here, they don't allow candy to even be passed out forget thrown.  In that way, I miss the Mardi Gras parades and all those cute kids wanting to catch something.

Severe storms moved through the area about mid afternoon, but mostly missed us and went south to CT.  We had about 3 minutes of rain that left things even stickier, but a couple hours later the wind picked up and it actually bordered chilly last night.  Today is stunning and I'm heading out to do some weeding before the temps climb into the 80's...which, as everyone knows, is above my comfort zone.

    Hope everyone enjoys their day!

I love having them too but also never seem to schedule them. I'm pretty good at doing my own though.

DH just left for work and I need to get some cleaning done and then head to training with Shane. Last Sat. was over 100 degrees and today the high is supposed to be 73. It sure is gorgeous though.

A friend gave me her BOSU ball because she has bad knees and couldn't use it. I did a bunch of exercises using it yesterday and can really feel in my arms and legs.

I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Happy Pink Flamingo Day!!  Deb, do you have a beverage suggestion in honor of this day?

Crosby, Stills and Nash are performing on one of the morning 'news" programs and they're not at anywhere near their best (the harmonies are really flat/off key). Bummer.

It's dog bed washing day here, plus garden and yard work. The rain storms last night really helped. It's still a bit humid but with much cooler temps. This I can manage.

Hugs for all who need them!

Oooh, I wish I had some pink lemonade to go w/my vodka and my pink toe nails! :D

This was my first pedi of the season and I just stopped by to see if I could get one before they closed.  Thank goodness it was slow - only a couple of people.  They have those massage chairs with the spa water and fruity lotions and then the parafin wax!  ooh!  So nice!  Now I don't want to mow the lawn for fear of getting my feet dirty! :D

It's definitely not a sunny Saturday here.  Light rain, mid-50's, not scheduled to improve.  To keep warm, I'm wearing fuzzy slippers and a sweatshirt, and Ruby is all curled up under her fleece blanket.  It's good weather for all the indoor tasks I want to tackle today, but it's not doing much for my energy level.

Doug, I'd completely forgotten about how they used to throw candy from the firetrucks during our annual July 4th parade in my hometown back in CT.  We lived on the block where the parade route passed, so we parked our butts on the curb early and were ready to catch whatever we could.  I remember Tootsie Rolls and Bazooka bubble gum being favorites.  I hope your grandson and the other kids have a successful haul!

A few minutes ago there was a bright yellow goldfinch on the feeder, and a hummingbird came hovering over -- so close, I thought he was going to land on the feeder, too.  DH said maybe he thought the goldfinch was a flower that he could dine on.  We do have a hummingbird feeder a few feet away from the thistle feeder, so maybe the hummingbird just got a bit lost!

Well, clothes are ready to go in the dryer, and I've got to clean our bathroom, so on to the fun for me!  Stick out tongue

Oh, I hope Riley had a comfortable night and is feeling good this morning.  Reading Lisa's description of yesterday nearly made me cry -- for her worry over Riley being so upset, and for all the other families she mentioned.  I hope there are special angels watching over all those parents and kids.

Oye!  Where is my brain these days??  I also meant to mention Riley and poor Lisa.  Glad everything went well, but my heart ached for the upset on both parts!

Did about an hour of kayaking - went just under 3 miles - was tough going as the current was tough. Saw tons of kingfishers, egrets, herons, and cormorants. Relaxing for a while than off to the farmer's market to find something to make for dinner

Lisa and Riley are in all our thoughts I am sure

Lisa, I'm sorry you guys had to go through such an ordeal, but I hope Riley is having a better day today.

It's absolutely gorgeous today - maybe low to mid 70s.  I really don't have anything that "needs" doing outside except to maybe clean the dust off the patio table that landed there as a result of the wind.  I'd just hose it off, but Max turns into Mr. Crazy Dog when he sees the hose and we'd both wind up soaked so I think I'll just grab the windex and some paper towels.
