    Birthday/Gotcha day Party

Well, I know I am getting ahead of myself a little (Tyson's birthday isn't until October), but I would *love* to have a doggy party for his special day.  Of course I will be inviting all of his doggy friends, and their owners!

For those of you that are into throwing parties for you pooch, please post some ideas/experiences!

I know that our neighbor used to throw a big party for his dogs (before we moved here, I haven't any firsthand experience)...invited a whole bunch of other pets/owners over, filled up the "doggy pool", and he even had a "dog-friendly" cake made (and a separate one for the human guests [:D].)

I had a Gotcha Day Party for Roscoe. We invited all our doggie friends from the dog park and a couple people I knew from this board and another one.  I had a carrot cake from Costco (it was going to say "Happy Gotcha Day" on it, but you have to order 24 hours in advance. I got there 23 hours in advance. [8D]), brownies, soda/coffee/water, and a big bowl of "Doggie Trail Mix"  The trail mix had charlee bears, Innova kibbles, animal crackers, dehydrated chicken, and homemade liver treats and tuna treats. It was a big hit!

I attended one once, thats where I learned the frozen half gallon milk crate trick. It was in the summer and they got a bunch of empty half gallon milk containers, filled it halfway with water, froze it, and peeled the cardboard off. It provided endless entertianment!  I think if they handed out bones it might start trouble but it was SO funny to see a dog try to steal a huge block of ice, another was trying to protect his and push it to the edge of the lawn, a couple were scooting them around and one just laid on top of his, it was great and it obviously dosnt leave a mess!

Last year I celebrated Romeo's gotcha day and ordered everything including the cake from [linkhttp://www.mybestfriendpettreats.com]www.mybestfriendpettreats.com[/link] and was very pleased.  I have also ordered the doggy pizza a couple of times, that way when I have pizza he can have his as well.
