    Swimming

I have a lab who had a toe lanced about 2 weeks ago thanks to an infection he got from a grass seed or something that worked its way under his nail.  He's taken keflex (an antibiotic) while he's been healing, and I got the all clear from the vet last week to run him again and let him get some exercise.  His wound is closing up nicely, and it's not draining at all, but it's still a little pink, though the pink area is much smaller.

I forgot to ask my vet this, but when is it okay to let him swim again?  We're going to a lake later today with some friends who have a lab mix, and I'd love to take Mercer (my lab) with us, but I don't want to slow down a complete heal.  Advice?

Band aid sells something called LIQUID BANDADE...

if your nervous about it,you could use that on the pink area and take him,...if it looks like there is a possibility of it reopening from hard play(2 labs at a lake?i would count on it..lol)i wouldnt chance it.

bieng he is on antibiotics,i am sure he will be fine...just keep it clean...dogs are pretty hardy...if you do,just keep checking him..

Thanks - though I found out that the lake isn't as dog-friendly as I thought.  Oh well.
