They probably got the dog as a puppy because they are such beautiful dogs and it would be a status symbol for them.  Then when the peeing inside got too bad, they banned it to outside.  People with kids just don't realize that the puppy they just got is going to  need as much time as their kids do.  You can't just not potty train your kid!  Sheesh...

I hope things work out for this poor boy....  :(

You mean they don't learn do it in the right place all on their own?  I'm shocked...

I had an acquaintance who had a Weim and I just loved that dog!  I know how active they are - I hope this guy's situation changes for the better.  They have such spirit.

This is a site that might offer some information. Heck you could even print out some of their material and mail it to them, anonymously!

    Now, there's a good idea!

The poor guy was probably an impulse buy.  That is how I ended up with Joey.  His first owners said he was impossible to house train - they didn't give him much of a chance because they tied him outside at 4 months.  But atleast they knew that wasn't the best for him and found him a new home with another idiot - that I took him from.

This is going to sound really bad, but he is bound to get loose again someday.  I'd take him to a Weim rescue group when that happens.

I'll be praying that one day, this dog has a good home.

If its anything like it is here theres nothing that can be done unless the dog gets sick.Even then its hard to get anyone to do anything.About 4 moths ago we found a litter of pups that had been born in thier moms dog house outside in the middle of February.( its around 30 below zero here) the were born there and left to fend for themselves. When they got old enough to walk and run they were constantly running in the road and 3 had been killed.Animal controll was called 3 times but since they had moms dog house, moms water and some day old bread strewn about on top of thier poop.they would nt do anything. There is no leash law out here in the country.
Thankfully i convinced them to give me the pups but they would not part with mom.The poor girl is still chained to that dog house waiting to get pregnant again.

I would really like to know why they got a  dog, much less, a Weim.  To leave it outside would mean they want the dog for protection and that is certainly not the breed for that.  It would be great if it could be dognapped and rehomed.......(you didn't hear it from me).

    Ditto!
