There is a breeder here in town. The parents of her pups are gorgeous. They are AKC registered, and I believe she's shown one of the parents. Her pups go for $1,000.

While I believe someone can sell their puppies for whatever price, I do have to wonder what corners were cut in order to sell a puppy at such a low price when the normal price tag for the breed can be double of what someone is charging. If someone isn't showing and proving their dogs in conformation or any other dog related event and isn't doing health testing then they wouldn't have those costs to "pass down" to the puppy buyer. And that in itself would be a big reason not to buy from such a breeder. A bargain pup can cost big time money if it ends up with congenital defects and Bulldogs are prone to a lot of them. This is a breed that you'd most definitely want to buy from a responsible breeder if you choose to go the breeder route.

If anyone's checked the Yahoo Classifieds area lately...lol. There are Bulldogs listed as being $400-700 dollars which is SHOCKINGLY cheap for that breed. Of course they are all scammers doing the Nigerian thing, with no actual puppies, only "cashier's checks".

I think what's happened here is that someone is trying to legitimize their scam and has launched a website to that end, Ive noticed a few of the scammers on yahoo have websites now. I haven't looked as I don't give hits to sites I think are scams...but they might've taken pics from other sites and posted them along with various information filched from here and there...the typos are a big tip off in a scam...most times english isn't their first language and they have trouble with it.

A reputable breeder will have homes lined up before they even have the litter thought of. They will not need to advertise like this.

And, somebody can correct me if I am wrong, but the price sounds low for an English Bulldog, and would sound alarms to me.

Ditto. The price is VERY low and I don't know of a quality breeder that doesn't already have deposits on at least 6-8 pups before the litter is even sired.
