I recently had a lot of fun with a schnoodle breeder. The ad was for AKC schoodles, HYPO-allergenic, 6 weeks old, ready to go now...housebroke,
$800
for a mutt.
Just for poops and grins I called and pretended to be the average uninformed

uppy buyer....the byb insisted that the pups can all be AKC registered when I asked. I played dumb...said I thought that only purebreds could be registered with AKC....."oh no, they've changed that.....as long as both parents are AKC registered, the pups can be now too"....yeah, right, and I've got some lovely swamp land in Florida for you.
Next I asked about the hypo allergenic claim....seems that poodles never shed a single hair (tell my son that...he works in a kennel and helps with grooming) nor do snhauzzers (sorry, I can't spell THAT one to save my life) Said that I'd read somewhere that it's the dander and the saliva that MOST people are allergic too....don't these dogs have any dander?? ABSOLUTELY NONE. Well, surely they have saliva? Well, yes, but these two breeds have been proven to not have the properties in THEIR saliva that other dogs do.
OK, how do you houseBREAK (man, I hate, hate HATE that word) a 6 week old pup? Seems that you just leave them outside in their run all day so that they never get the chance to pee in the house. And gosh, I read someplace that if you take pups from their litter that young that they haven't learned bite inhibition or a lot of other stuff from their littermates......the response?? "I don't know where you're finding all this crap, but who ever wrote it knows NOTHING about pups. It's best to remove them from the mother at 4 weeks and keep her completely away from them." Seems that one should also start separating the pups for most of the day so that they don't get too dependent on one another at about the same time.
Worming and shots? Oh no, HER pups never ever have worms because they are raised on a cement pad in the kennel where worms can't thrive....worms need soil you know, and shots are started at FOUR WEEKS!! And then administered EVERY TWO WEEKS UNTIL THE age of twelve weeks. And this is the HUGE combo shot! The 7 in one! Oh, and when the vet gives them the LAST shot, at 12 weeks, be sure to get the rabies shot as well.
What about health testing? Are there any conditions common to either breed that could pass on to the pups? ABSOLUTELY none....no genetic conditions in either breed, which is of course why this makes them such a perfect mix. I had NO IDEA how perfect both breeds were! And HER adults see the vet every six months whether they need to or not and the vet has certified her dogs as perfect.....
