It's hard to believe that this is the overgrown, heavy boy that came back to me the end of Janaury.....hand shy, timid, fearful, not very trusting and certainly not terribly energetic!

He made it clear early on that children made him a bit uncomfortable, but I controlled the stray kids that wanted to see him and made sure that they approached him in a way that made him feel at least less unsafe.....and when we came back, knowing that my little great niece adores dogs, Todd told Tyler, "Gracie is family....she's ok.  She's just a little girl so you have to be very gentle with her".  If I can figure out how to bring the pictures up of she and Tyler I'll post them.  She was hugging him, half crawling on him, and he was fine and loving and gentle with her.

When we went over to my Mom's house Gracie was walking Tyler around the driveway.....and he was doing exactly as she asked.  Gracie is 3 1/2 and walking an almost 80 lb pup.  Sis told her that if Tyler started to run she should let go of the leash.  My niece was upset with her for that, but I explained, no, Tyler will come right back to me, but Gracie could get hurt if she gets dragged.  Of course, good boy that he is, Tyler didn't run...even after the black squirrels that were teasing him.  Of course, he *might* have been just a little tired after his walk!

I'm so pleased with just how far this boy has come in a few short months.  I never would have thought back then that HE could be the one who did the MS Walk with us!
