as a mini boxer?

My sister and I had a discussion about a couple of pups from the same litter. She said that one of the pups is being starved and that the breeder has givin the owner a certain amount of time to get her weight up. She also said the the other pup (owned by another person) is about 3 times the size. So I brought up the idea that although the smaller one may very well be undernourished, it is also not a good idea for a large breed dog to grow too fast. She told me it was ok cause these a mini boxers. I've never heard of a mini boxer before.

I've heard of "mini boxers" that were mutts between something like pugs and min pins or maybe that was mini Rotties.... The only mini Boxers I've heard of were mutts....

There was a discussion on this at the old forum. Basically, No. There is no relationship between "mini-boxers" and "mini-rottweilers" with their regular sized counterparts. They are basically mixes of pugs, chihuahua, boston terriers, etc to create a dog that resembles the real breed.

Sad isn't it? [:'(]

Anyway, I'm not sure what your sister is referring to.. maybe I'm missunderstanding something?

Well when she said they were mini she kind of indicated the height just below her knee. By the time we got to this point in the conversation I was kind of irritated and wasnt really paying attention. I kept thinking that why would the breeders of any dogs give them to people that dont know how to take care of them without instruction. And the fact that she completely dismissed the idea of dogs growing too fast. And then she throws this at me. Mini Boxers. My first thought was mutt. And she says "well since they breed these dogs I'm pretty sure they know how fast they should grow." Grrrr. I'm still irritated. At her and at those BYB. By the way the people paid good money for those pups.
