    Looking to buy a frisbee...

What kind/brand of frisbee should I get?  So far I've only used plastic frisbee designed for people and cheap $1 frisbees from Petco.  Depending on the quality of the frisbee, it takes Hagyl, our GSD pup, anywhere from 10 minutes to 10 days to obliterate it.  It's not that I give it to him as a chew toy, but somehow he manages to destroy them between picking the frisbee up and bringing them back.

Anyways, I was looking at a few more "durable" frisbees, so I'd like some inputs their pros or cons or anybody's experience with the particular brand.

Nylabone - the kind with the bone shape on top, which is supposed to help the dog grab it
Soft fabric frisbees - easy on the mouth?  But is it durable?
Air Kong - the thing that looks like a tennis ball, 'cept in a ring, but if it's only as tough as a tennis ball, then uh oh.

So, what do you guys think?  Oh by the way, it'd be nice too if the frisbee's easy to throw/accurate.  I'm training him to catch it out of the air.

    Thanks in advance.

I have no idea about brands in the US for frisbees....however....dog.com sells some, those may be the ones you have already mentioned....I also found this for you:

It's made of kevlar, the bulletproof material.  Also soft to protect your dogs mouth.  Maybe that's an option?

We always had pretty bad luck when it cam to our frisbees, too.  A 90 lb german pinscher and a 90 lb lab mix kept making quick work of even the "indestructible" ones.  Their jaws just seemed to crack the harder frisbees in about two minutes.  Then we found a cheap rubber frisbee at our local Target store.  That thing has lasted us almost two years with infrequent use, but for $3 it might be worth a shot and can just about double as a chew toy.

    Re: Nylabone frisbee

We had one, and it lasted a whole 3 minutes...seriously. It wasn't as durable as I excepted it to be based on other Nylabone products.

I got a fabric type one, that's able to float in water, and is easy on their mouth. I found that is much easier to throw ( and for them to catch) than the plastic ones. That frisbee lasted Cassidy ( 77 lb. German Shepherd/Lab cross) about 4 months, which is pretyy good. Then I had to get her a new one, which I lost before she used it a lot [:(]. They are about $6 I think. I also saw another type of frisbee that I might get her, that is supposed to be pretty durable, but also soft on her mouth.

I got Molly a Kong frisbee...it's pretty durable rubber.
Now to get her to catch it LOL

we dont have the air kong frisbee (ring), but we do have an air kong stick (?). so far sydney has been able to destroy almost any toy he chooses to except that one. they are much more durable than tennis balls, which only last a few minutes at our house.

My dog just loves frisbees but eats then faster then I could buy them. I got a little tiered spending money on sdog toys that only lasted a few minets. I finaly went to the kid secion of wal-mart and bought a childs frisbee from there. Much cheaper and it seemed to last longer. It seems like stuff made for children is montered for defects more than dog toys are so they held up better. I can't remember what brands I have bought but most seem to be the same quality.

I get dog frisbees at Old Navy. At $5 or so apeice, they hold up for months. Emma puts her teeth through hard plastic frisbees on the first toss. She shreds cloth ones, given any chance at all, and she's a pretty destructive dog in general. She *enjoys* making things break. She *intends* to, and she's so rotten, she knows her mom will just go out and buy her more toys, LOL. I haven't gotten anything more expensive, because these work, for us.

Soft fabric frisbees - easy on the mouth? But is it durable?

My Aussie, Sequoyah has had a "Flippy Flopper" fabric frisbee since she was 10 weeks old - she's 7 months now and the lettering is coming off, but no rips or tears.  And, she does occasionally shake the heck out of the thing.
