I know the follow you everywhere and need to be touching at all times is a weimaraner trait.  They were bred to work closely with the hunter, to not range out of site.  I'm not sure if its a pointer thing as well, but it certainly could be.  When I take Scout for hikes he never ranges out of site.  He runs up ahead and back to me. I never trained this behavior, it was just natural. Look forward to chatting with you! • felicity Posted : 6/8/2006 9:31:23 PM must be a trait then, she never leaves my site lol...i love it though, especially because she gets this look on her face when i walk away from her as if to say 'oy, don't leave me alone!'   i didn't know anything about English Pointers until i brought her, luckily i'm never fussed with certain dog traits, i just accept them and get used to it but she is a great dog.   i love the sleekness of the pointer, my husband wants a German Shorthaired Pointer next lol...or a Boston terrier...i'm hoping for both []   i just posted a tonne of photo's of her in the photo section plus some of my art...i always get nervous when no-one reply's after i post artwork...can't help thinking 'they don't like it!' lol   felicity 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
