    rescue kennels

Can anyone help me? I would like to work at a greyhound rescue kennel or lurcher and greyhound rescue. I am only 17 and 18 in december, i don't have a clue about how to go about this. I always thought that rescues was all by volunteer work, but i have found out it's not. Working in a rescue kennels would be my dream job, i have worked in a boarding kennels since 14 years old and have grew up with sighthounds and lurchers. Pleaseee does anybody know what i can do?

Shelters do have a certain number of paid staff.  They aren't paid very well, as these shelters are all not for profit, but for animal lovers the work can be very rewarding and satisfying.

Have you considered going to a community college or tech school to get a Veterinary Technician Certificate?  This would open alot of doors for you and get you into animal work as a professional.

I'd contact a greyhound rescue group and see if they can put you in contact with somewhere to work.
