The only thing Corn Gluten Meal is good for...

Well.. was looking for some organic weed killer for my lawn and guess what  ?? 98% Corn Gluten Meal is what they suggest to suppress weeds. Go figure. It stops the seeds from germinating.

YUCK! My dogs roll in the grass too much to use that, LOL. Emma would be broken out in all kinds of crazy hives and rashes.

Are you sure ?? I believe there is a difference between contact allergens and ingested allergens. I can't say for certain but ...

Corn gluten meal is the only proven organic weed killer there is. It sure is expensive though... $60 for only 2500 sf of coverage. At that price it would cost me $600 to do my entire lawn . I bought organic fertilizer at WalMart, believe it or not, for $7.43 per 40 lb bag !

It would cost me a LOT to do that.... Emma's so allergic. Her skin breaks out from food allergies. She eats grass and digs up grubs and moles, so I'm sure she'd consume some of it. She *does* have contact allergies. They're pretty bad, too. She's keeping a rash from rolling in the blooming, pollon filled lawn right now.

Might be cheaper to grab a bag a pedigree chow, pulverize it and spread it over your lawn ;o)

Wow , that bites.   I think only one of my dogs has any kind of allergies. I think Andy the GSP has an allergy to chicken. I notice whenever I feed the dogs raw chicken his skin turns bright pink and he starts scratching. He also itches on any food w/chicken in it so I'm keeping him on venison, elk and lamb from now on.

I have to do something about the weeds in my yard though. The thistle , dollarweed and wild geranium are overtaking the entire yard already !

LMAO... I was actually thinking of that .

Yeah, Emma's loads of fun. I'd love to meet the "man" who dropped her mom off at the shelter.
