my BOY please help??

• my BOY please help?? sako Posted : 6/2/2006 5:06:54 AM my 7 yr old chocolate lab is on ear meds Presdnisone and doxycyeline for ear infections and this morning we all got up to stomach vile with blood in it??   What does this mean?? Does this mean that the pills he's on are giving him a ulser?????  help please?? • forpaws Posted : 6/2/2006 5:52:07 AM It could be something and nothing. They sometimes bust a vessel when vomiting really hard and that will produce blood in the vomit. And it could be something to be concerned about. • agilebcs Posted : 6/2/2006 7:21:35 AM Your dog is on Doxy for an ear infection?  In my experience, Doxy isn't usually prescibed for ear infections, though I guess it the ear had been cultured and it was a bacterial infection rather than yeast it might be used.  Has the vet prescribed other anti-biotics that haven't work on his ears?    Doxy can cause and upset stomach which would explain the throwing up.  Not the blood though.  Make sure you give it with food.   I'd call the vet and ask but I wouldn't panic. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
