Fostering... again

    Fostering... again

Some of you might remember my past brush w/ fostering when I fostered a GSD mix called Morgan. Her being here had Stanley (my heart and soul boy) sad and down, like he wouldn't be in the same room w/ the other dog, lie by himself in a dark room moping. Well, while browsing Petfinder to find a dog for our parents, I found a dog that really pulled on my heart strings b/c he looked a lot like Stanley and is about to be euthanized. Since he has a bit of food aggression, he would not be suitable for our parents, but he also needs a foster home... and I'm really torn on whether I should try it again or not. I don't know if Stanley reacted that way b/c of the particular dog or having another dog in the household in general (he does fine in the dog run.) I'd hate to see him unhappy like that. Another reason I'm hesitating is that my husband got quite attached to the last dog we fostered and was really sad when she left. I'm sure he'd say yes if I insisted (he's a softie) but it also doesn't seem fair to hurt his feeling.

What do you think? Any piece of advice would be appreciated, esp. those who foster!

As someone who currently has foster dogs and a dog who at times has issues with other dogs I would have to say bring the baby home. I personally think Stanley will be okay he may be a bit upset but think of it this way you are atleast saving the other dogs life by taking him in an it will only be a temporary upset if any. Best of luck with your new foster:)

Can you take Stanley over to meet this other dog before you commit to fostering?  you might get a good idea of how it could go that way.
