    New Purina Busy BOnes

Does anyone know anything about the new Purina Busy Bones? Our little minaature schnauzer absolutly  would love to chew something, but vet has said no to all but the white marrow bones (without any marrow). He said he has seen too many sad situations from rawhide, greenies, etc.  Unfortunately, we've had to rule out the white bone. She goes at is with such zeal, she would have no teeth after 20 minutes of chewing. The first time cracked a small portion of a tooth.
Was hoping the Busy Bones might be an answer. Thanks Liz

I'm trying real hard to remember what those are. IIRC those are the cornstarch bones??? Right? They would last all of about 2 seconds at my house, and the ingredients are not so great. What about the Nylabones? If your dog chips teeth on real bones, have you considered giving the nylabones for aggressive chewers??

Try a beef or pork rib, raw. Busy bones are grain based and not very healthy for your girl.

Teenie broke a tooth on an edible Nylabone. She hasn't had a problem with real bones.

Here are the ingredients, I found em.

    Ingredients
Rice, water, glycerin, dried peas, dried carrots, wheat flour, gelatin, chicken by-product meal, wheat gluten, dried beef stock, glucono-delta-lactone, sorbic acid (a preservative), added color, Vitamin E (a preservative),
calcium propionate (a preservative), natural and artificial smoke flavor, BHA (a preservative), BHT (a preservative).
    A-5455

Between the grains, wheat, by-products, and BHT I would avoid these.

I've been pretty grateful that none of my aggressive chewers have broken any teeth (yet). They get the cow shank bones, and I still have a few of the old nylabones laying around. The edible nylabones got banned because they were scarfing hunks and gunking up the carpet. [&:]

Thanks. After reading ingredients, I guess we'll pass on them. Might give the rib bone a try though.
Vet excluded nylabones also. And, the way she chews, I concur. She's wolf it down in 3 bites and those hunks would end up somewhere.... Liz

Debbie, you're so sweet. I don't know if anyone else can tell this (you probably can being a Pap owner yourself) but he was totally FURIOUS with me. He was all about the going inside when I made him stop to pose for a pic. He was all huffy and thoroughly put out that I had the neeeerrrrve to interrupt his plan. [:D]

I'm impressed you have a vet who recommends raw bones at all. My vet shudders in horror when I talk about raw bones.I would not give rawhides or greenies, and my vet sells them [:@].

My vet sells rawhides, greenies, and pig ears. Gotta love that.
