    Who wins?

A friend sent me this and I wanted to share.  It is very timely for me and I hope it helps others going thru some tough times.

    Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes
on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves
     inside us all.
"One is Evil -  It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed,
arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
"The other is Good -  It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility,
kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his
    grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

ahh shall we go deeper? Wolves are a bit of a totem animal for me...so I approach this, thusly...

    Wolves are a pack..not a single entity. A single wolf..is a dead wolf.

The TRUE win in the above is that you feed and care for BOTH because BOTH will help you in life...even anger envy and vengence are useful emotions at times....I believe this. Just as a surfeit of generosity or benevolence without good sense or suspicion can lead to a sorry short life.

Every good wolf knows he is only as good as the brothers he surrounds himself with...and he'll only ever gets to eat, that which his brothers and he TOGETHER...can bring down.

It's more complicated...call me odd...but that is what I think of when I read Two Wolves.

Yes, very good point.  It's all about balance and I agree that all of our emotions have a purpose.  What I get out of Two Wolves is that we have a choice and we should choose wisely. Stronge emotion shouldn't be considered a random, out of control event that we can't do anything about, whether the emotion is "good" or "bad".   Not that I don't do plenty of random, emotional behavior. lol

My pack (emotions) are a lot healthier than they used to be...and I can call on any of the members should I need them...interestingly angry wolf is DEFINITELY more active and wily once a month tho...wonder if there's some deeper meaning in that? *cackles*
