introducing a new pet - a turtle

• introducing a new pet - a turtle a_ryan Posted : 5/17/2006 8:30:05 AM Two days ago, we found a California desert turtle wandering down an alley in our neighborhood.  We posted signs, but so far no one has claimed it.    My chis know something new is in the house, and they very eagerly sniff the box we're temporarily keeping it in (not that we're just leaving it in a box - it's got free reign in our backyard when we're home).   Is it okay to introduce them and does anyone have any suggestions for how?  I don't want my doggies getting their noses bit off.
