It is apparently all dogs hate me day. Wanna hear the story?
I took all three dogs outside for some training and a walk. We completed that with no problems. I saw my neighbor down the street outside with her 5 year old Weimaraner Sarge so we went down there. Sarge is a VERY well behaved boy and always is good about greetings. Well, today I walked down there and he planted two very muddy paws right on my shirt. They were very apologetic but since he usually NEVER does this I said it was fine. Then, he moved on to greeting my dogs which he was very nice about. Cuddles and Brownie were on my right and Lion was on my left. Well he sniffed Lion and they became instant buddies. Brownie was a little wary but came around after a minute or two. Then came Cuddles. She was a complete bitch. He sniffed her very gently and a small growl came out of her throat. I pulled the leash a little and told her to stop. Well, he sniffed again and she lunged for him and growled. I apoligized and said "I think she needs to go home." So we walked back, put Cuddles in the house, and then went back to my neighbors with Brownie and Lion.
Lion and Sarge were playing ball, Brownie was resting in the sun, and I was chatting. Then, a woman walked by with a beautiful Aussie. She was across the street. Lion was un-leashed because he NEVER EVER goes across the street without permission. Well he made a dash across the street. I yelled for him and he turned around, looked at me, and kept going. I told her that he was nice so he went over and greeted their dog. Then, he followed me and Brownie home. Looks like I need to keep using a leash for him now. She was nice about it though and the Aussie was beautiful! I am embarassed with my pups behavior though. We definetly need to do more training. They "forget" thiers over the winter when we weren't outside as much.
Ugh, bad day rant over.
