Hi all, since so many of you have great contacts in dog rescues, I thought you might be able to hook me up with some good rescue groups around San Francisco!
I have a friend who is seriously considering getting her first dog. She is still a student, but she's spent a lot of time around dogs and volunteered at our local animal shelter with me when we were in high school, so I am confident she would be a good owner.
She wants a small dog, but doesn't have a particular breed in mind. We were thinking an adult from a rescue might be a good plan, so she doesn't have to worry about housetraining a puppy in an apartment. It would be especially great if she could get a dog that's in foster care, so the foster family could give her a good idea what the dog is like and what the dog needs.
Anyone have recommendations for good rescues she should check out in the San Francisco area?
She is a student in her mid-20's, obviously doesn't own her own house yet, so rescues with fenced yard requirements etc. are out.
