Best treat bag?

    Best treat bag?

I just ruined my old one, so I need to get a new one. I was using raw beef heart for treats, I had them in a plastic bag inside of the pouch, but the plastic bag had a hole in it and when I took it out the treat bag was soaking wet with beef heart juice. I washed it and washed it, but the smell wont go away, and the smell is HORRIBLE. Like rotting meat... Ick!
This is the one that I have-

I really like it because it can stay shut on its own and is quick to open and will stay open. But it doesnt seem to have enough pockets. The little net thing in the front is a good idea, but I cant put anything in there because it falls out easily.

    Any suggestions?

Dunno...I have the exact same one.  I really like it.

What do you put in the front net?  I store my clicker in it and I've never had a problem with it falling out.  But then again, when the pouch is in use, so is the clicker...

If you really like this one, maybe you can get some of that sticky velcro tape that you can attach to the net pocket, so you can keep it closed up?  Just a thought.  That velcro stuff you can get in the craft section of Walmart.

If you want to use ooky stuff, why not hit the dollar store for some of those fanny packs? You can fold the flap against your body and then the top part is open. I used to use them all the time for Pirate, when I didn't know such a cool thing as a treat bag existed, LOL. That way you can just chuck it if you have another accident :)

I like this one b/c it's small and has an inside layer you can pull inside out to empty out crumbs and wipe it down.

I had that same treat bag until one of the dogs got ahold of it and shredded it in the backseat of the car.

Now I have the Handi-Treat. I like it because the dogs can nose it, bump it, or hit it and nothing comes out, plus since it is plastic (rubber?), I can rinse it out, bleach it, etc. to get it clean. No pockets, but I like how slim and easy it is to use. I got a lanyard for my clicker, so it is always accessible, and the Handi-Treat is pretty durable.

I use a nail apron. I bought a dozen. If the dogs shred it, I just get out a new one. If I lose it? No big deal. It has two sides, one for a toy and clicker, and the other for goodies.

Also, I use one of those plastic nail holder tubey dealies. You squeeze it, lightly, and the food falls out. It works great as a retrieving toy, too, and is VERY motivating to retrieve. Emma loved playing "take it" and "bring" with that toy (the others' mouths aren't quite big enough).

I use the front net thingy for the clicker, my phone, poop bags, keys, etc (obviously, not all at the same time). It holds things fine when we're walking around but if I take it off for a minute or bend over to pick something up everything falls out. I'd perfer somthing that can velcro or zip shut.

sl2crmeg-  Thats what I did before I got the bait bag I have now, but I couldnt find any that would stay open Tongue Tied

Lies- I saw that one too, but I dont think that one has a belt on it? It looks like the one you clip onto your pants or belt loop, and I dont like those,  they always fall off.

stormyknight- The handi treat looks good because use cut up raw meat for treats most of the time, so it would be easier to clean. It looks pretty small though, I'd probably end up losing it.

Jennie- I never even thought of that, great idea!

Micksmom- I have seen that one before too, at first I thought it was perfect because it had zipper pockets and would stay open and shut on its own, but I havent gotten it because I know someone who has one and they said they dont like it and it broke really quick...

I have the same one Lies posted, I've never had a problem with it falling off but treats will bounce out if I run LOL.

I lost the string that closes it, so I have to watch it all the time. but its never come unclipped. I'm thinking about making myself one, I want it a little bigger & the option to have it clip or have a belt loop. i wanna make the flap magnetic, so it automatically closes itself, but I want it to where i can tuck the flap in behind the bag when i need it to stay open for awhile.

I do get the crumb/dust problem with this type of bag. that handi treat looks like it wouldn't have that problem. I usually just dump out the dust/crumbs on Sheba's ( my old dog) dinner. lol

ok I thought this was pretty funny, I made this a couple years ago for a quick cargo ammunition pocket for range day.

but......could be an 'ultimate' treat bag LOL!!
