He is very cute! I have known many a Dachs with a chip on their shoulder. They are more terrier than hound, IMO and they can have a 'tude to match lol. They own whatever patch of ground they stand on and most need an owner or household that will be firm with them from the get go so they don't indulge too much, their innate Napoleon complexes LOL!

I have no doubt you're right, Gina.  He's a little more outgoing than his brother was, and considering he was quarantined for 10 days, he does not seem too scared or standoffish.  I also know it takes weeks sometimes for the personality to show. 

His brother went to a home with 2 doxies already, and I intend to work very hard to ensure Otis goes to someone knowledgeable.  One never know the real truth when dogs get turned in to the shelter.  Sigh...

oh yes. Some dogs are complete loves they just have their pecadilloes, like we ALL do. And who knows what led up to the bite...so many times it could have been prevented altogether with the right interventions.

I am glad he is being given a chance...and hopefully any issues he might have developed can be managed and he will live out his life in a happy home with people who love him and know their job is to protect him from situations that could end badly for him.

Otis, you are a cutie!!!  I hope you find your furever home soon.

LMAO!  I have a friend who got to see how Shooter bosses around our big guys.  Shoe had made Bev move out of his bed, & then had bitched at Cher for trying to join him.  The friend was amazed at how pushy Shooter is, & said "Apparently, god blesses drunks, fools, & yappy little dachshunds with Napoleon complexes."
