A visit to petco with Simba

This isn't a vital thing but I'm just excited/happy. So a friend of my sister and I works as a groomer at petco and so we went there so she could see him. While walking around a little girl and her dad came over to pet him, the little girl seemed scared at first but quickly warmed up to him and Simba was very gentle with her. He even let the dad roughly pet him without any issues. Next Saturday we're going to have Simba groomed, I know it doesn't take much to groom a short haired dog but I figure its good experience for him to get used to being touched by people. I'll be sure to take some pics when he comes all spiffy and shiny. :D Oh and he also saw a cute lab/shepherd puppy named Benjamen(hehe) and the two of them wrestled around, it was cute. :P

Good boy Simba!

We know, first hand, over here how exciting it is when our dog lets a stranger pet him. Casey was one of the worst dogs I've ever seen. A bite record a mile long.

But now - when he goes up to people and BEGS to be petted? I can't help feeling all warm and fuzzy inside :)

just take it slow - you don't want to overwhelm him!

That's a good idea. Especially getting him used to having his nails done.

Yeah he's gotten his nails done a few times and he seems to be okay with it as long as we keep him occupied. :) I'm sure he will be.

Really? Poor Casey. I love to see my pup excited to be around people. Not that my last dog wasn't, but he was more cautious. Oh I know, I keep things positive and he tends to get over new things quickly. If he gets freaked out by the dryer I'll just have my friend use a towel on him.
