Zoe Zoe Bug *huge pics* lol

Zoey got her last shot this last week, so I figured she'd be good to go for a long walk. We walked all over, she had a blast. Did great with cars. She doesn't bark at dogs behind fences ( which I love) but we need to do some work on joggers & bicyclists!! She had fun sniffing all kinds of things, she did great at not pulling. Also did great meeting the mini horses! I can't believe how big she's getting, she weighs 22lbs now. every time we go to the vet, they're always tons of 'ooohing' and 'awwwing' in teh back lol

sittin funny but still cute. lol

mom sez theys horses, but they lookz like dawgs to me

I'm very happy she's somewhat photogenic. lol my best friend kept telling me, take lots of pics while she's a pup! cuz shes gonna grow fast. i was looking at old pics last night, back when she was the size of one of the cats. she's growing up so fast ( sniffles a little). She learns sooo insanely fast still. i gave her a bath yesterday ( first bath with me), she was pretty good - didn't want to escape as much as I expected. but then I brought out the blow dryer. OMG talk about wanting ot KILL the blow dryer. Her reaction to scary stuff is 'I'm gonna tear you apart~!! RAWR'

a couple of clicks later, she was letting me blow dry her. lol I mean literally in two minutes she went from going nuts & trying to bite it, to sitting there calmly - even got the thing on medium speed & started waving it around. I can't wait to work on her other probs, but i need helpers.

I know a lot of motorist probably wonder what I 'm doing, sometimes I'm sitting on the overpass with her, or on a sidewalk somewhere. lol.

yesterday she probably saw about 150 cars go by,it least, including some harleys. We only had two reactions all day - and it was more 'chase' than complete melt down like before. so the hard work is paying off.

Awww! So she's basically Simba's age. <3 Glad to hear she's doing better with the cars and stuff. :D I haven't dare tried the blow dryer with Sim yet. How did you get her to be okay with it using the clicker?

she really seems to know as soon as I bring it out I want her to be calm. So basically I wait until she is doing what I want - being quiet - not barking or going nuts, then I C/T.  I keep adding more stimulus, and C/T for the right behavior. If she freaks out I just wait until she's calm & C/T. She gets it really fast. it helps her through alot of stuff. I like that it tells her what I like instead of yelling at her for what I dont like. :) also if she goes from ok, to melt down I know that I moved too fast for her, and go back to where she's succeeding.

So i started with just having her touch the hair dryer without it being on. then after she was cool with that, I turned it on ( not pointed at her though). then i worked up til I could have it blowing at her. then got it closer. then started waving it around. then put it on medium, and worked up to getting it closer and moving it around. I even got her to touch the side of it when it was on. I thought that was huge for her. ( dunno if you saw the vids but I did the same thing with the vacuum cleaner and the broom)

Its really worked well for her, thats how I got her over her fear of cars. Now they can whiz by her within 6 or 7' with no reaction. getting to that point where I don't even have to C/T her, cuz she's not even fixating on them anymore, too busy sniffing around and doing other things.

Awww, she's getting so BIG!  I can just feel her leaning into your hand in the 'loving' pix.
