What is this?

I noticed this mark on the inside of Zoe's right leg today. It is probably a little smaller than a dime and is a red circle (it is only the outline of the circle... the inside is still flesh color). Should I be concerned? Could it be something like ring worm? Her behavior is fine and she doesn't seem to be in pain. I think I touched it and it didn't seem to hurt her, but I haven't touched it again since if it is ring worm, it could be contagious.

Wes gets an allergic reaction to grass that sort of looks like that. He gets it in the same place too.

I'd go to the vet. When my son had something that looked just like that it was impetigo (a staph infection).

I don't see a dot in the middle but Zoe did spend a lot of time on the grass yesterday and today.

Boomer gets spots like that in that same area fairly often - but they're not usually perfectly round. I think it is some kind of heat rash where the raw skin rubs together. Your situation might be worth a vet look just for piece of mind.

Hmmm, I had Zoe outside yesterday morning for a walk and it was in the 70's. Also, today we were outside at a festival walking around and that's where I noticed it. It could be a heat thing I suppose. I plan on calling the vet tomorrow for an opinion. If he wants me to bring her in, I will set up the appt. to be her annual appt. which she is due for at the beginning of June anyway and kill both birds with one stone and one fee

. I am getting her rabies shot this week at a clinic run through the humane society though and was hoping to wait till June for the annual appt. since she will need vaccines then and I seem to understand all should not be done at once if it can be helped.

It could have been from a flea bite. Some dogs are allergic to flea saliva.

Ringworm? I've seen a few that appear like that.

UPDATE:
over night it got smaller and lighter. Now it is kinda a small pink spot, instead of a red circle. I was thinking ring worm but now I am not. Plus, it is not bothering or itching her at all. Any ideas? Is that what happens when it is an allergy spot?

I did not put anything on it to make it get smaller... it happened on its own.
