Can anyone recommend a good quality lobster clasp?

    Hi guys!

I work from home, and I am always taking collars on and off, however I just don't feel good about my pooches having their collars off.  I was wondering if anyone knows a good quality lobster style clasp so that I can click their tags off their collars easily multiple times a day.  Sometimes at night I like to leave their collars on for when we go out to potty late in case I would need them...but it's nice to have the quiet house at night with no jingling.  Since I work from home, it would be nice to have a quick fast way to take their jingle-jangles off...but a lot of them seem kind of cheap feeling to me.

Plus, I'm a TOTAL collar freak, my dogs have more collars than any dog would need in a lifetime...but I like having one for every occasion! LOL  And this would make it nice to switch from collar to collar.

    Any good suggestions?

My landlord used to keep her dogs' tags on a clip that she would add onto whichever collar she chose for the day.  She found hers at the hardware store near our house, but there was nothing particularly special about them.  Somewhat like a caribiner.  For added security (but more time consuming) are the ones where the clasp is screwed shut to keep it from randomly opening.

I just tape the tags -- a piece of band-aid style adhesive wrapped around a tag keeps it quiet.

I clipped Buddy's tags to his leash.

I'm a collar nut too, so I use clasps to make switching tags fast.  Because my critters are all small or medium sized I couldn't find a carabeener small enough, so I just went to Michaels and bought a package of clasps from the jewelry findings section.  I got 5 for like $3 and even though the silver has worn off on two of the three we've used so far, the clasps themselves seem to be quite durable.

I use these when I remember to attach tags.  I usually don't remember, & I don't worry too much about it.  It's not like my dogs are going to try to run off, & at least here, having the rabies certificate is more important than the actual tag.

I hit several pet forums, and see some strange thread titles and read some strange things.  When I read this title, my first thought was why would you want to leash a lobster.  Maybe I should visit the library and read some books for a while.

Thanks Bevo and Stardog!  Sounds like I might have to make a trip to Michaels and the Hardware store!  I had looked on all the pet sites and hadn't found any on there...I guess I thought maybe someone else in the pet store world might be like me...but alas...I guess not!  So I'm glad you guys have had success with Michaels and the Hardware store!  I'll stop there today!

    Thanks again!

I use lobster clasps on mine, I got them at Michael's.  I've tried mini-carabeners but they always break.  I've also used a really tiny quick link (um I think the clicker was on there to show size comparison)

    Thanks Lies!

I got the ones at Michaels and I was SO surprised at how high of quality they are!  I figured because they were for crafts they wouldn't be that great...but they really are sturdy for my pitties!  Looks like I go the exact size you did for the tags, and then I got the next size bigger for linking my clicker to things...so thank you thank you thank you everyone for recommending Michaels!  Whould've figured!

I got late but it's not too late ever to mend something important. I think, you should go through web because, you can have your desired lobster clasp there and can choose anyone which is better for you.
