All White Husky?

    All White Husky?

I have a friend who has an all white husky.  Is this breed standard.  Also, how tall are huskies supposed to be - for show/breeding quality.  I ask because a friend of mine has a husky that I don't think is a very good representation of the breed.  In fact, she doesn't either, but her husband thinks they can make "big buck" on stud service.  He tells everyone he's "rare."  And maybe he is because I don't know much about huskys, but I think he looks like a white german shepard with husky eyes.

A Siberian Husky can be pure white but as far as rare it isn't.   Akc standard states a Siberian Husky should be the height of 21 to 23½ inches at the withers for males,. Females, 20 to 22 inches at the withers.  As far as makeing big bucks on stud fees its not vary likely.  If you take into a count for all the health test that would need to be done.

Here's a picture of a Pure White Siberian Husky

Actually, Frost looks exactly like that.

I've already told him that he's acting like an ignorant hill-billy.  I don't think he'll actually do it, his wife won't let him.

    Thanks!

From what I understand of the chukchi dog and even standard Siberian Husky breeding, there was no original foundation stock of a pure white Siberian Husky. It is a modern american variation in breeding to fill a niche market based on looks. I think they are becoming more common because of this.

They're becoming more popular in the pet market.  It is extremely hard to finish a solid white in an AKC show
