LennyRandy:   I'm a Yorkie owner.  I have a 13 week Yorkie male named Rudy whom we've had for 5 weeks now.  I don't know how old your Yorkie/Yorkies are but please let me know if you are up to answering "Lot's" of questions I have for you.  We dearly love our sweet Rudy, but need some guidance from a fellow Yorkie owner who's been thru all aspects of the puppy stages.
    Thanks,
    Rudys Mom

I have a Yorkie. Tinkerbelle weighs 5lb. and is 13 years old. She's my precious baby girl. 6 months ago she lost her best friend and companion, Savannah, to cancer. We have mourned together. She's lost without her and it's so sad to see. She is one special little lady.

We didnt have any yorkies until this morning. My best friend found this little guy on her porch! She brought it to us since her pap hates other dogs.He is sooo sweet! If his owners dont come forward to claim him he will be up for adoption soon!

I've had my Sassy for almost a year now.  I swear I've read everything there is out there about our puppies!  I noticed Rudy's mom might have some questions.  I know Sassy's technically still a puppy, but I think I've gone through everything one can go through. "knocks on wood"  Anyway, she's perfectly trained and knows pretty much every command possible and was fully potty-trained at 4 months.  She's 3 lbs and a ball of energy!  I love my yorkie! :-)

" Hi "  Beckly/ Sassy's Mom:   Rudys Mom here.  Thanks for noticing that I had some questions on Yorkies.  Your Sassy sounds like a really nice, sweet, well-trained little girl.  My Rudy is almost 4 months old now and weighs about 6 and a half lbs. He's such a sweet boy.  He is completly crate trained. Some days his house potty-training goes really well, but mostly it's not going so good.  I take him out in the morning around 6:45, after he's been out with my husband at 5 a.m. At 5 a.m. Rudy will both pee and poop after being in the crate all night. Then Rudy comes up to bed with me, in his crate, on the bed till 6:45. I take him right outside. He sniffs, stands there, really doesn't like to get his feet wet in the wet morning grass and then wants back in, he also get distracted by other dogs barking in the neighborhood. Although he can't see them.  He's not in here more than 5 minutes and he's peeing on the floor  I do keep him outside with me for a while.  Any house-training tips would be greatly appreciated.  He does know the word No.  Any other tips would also be greatly appreciated.  We love our Rudy. Thanks, Beckly, for your help.

Don't give up!  He's still a puppy and it takes time! [:)]

Sounds like he's just distracted.  Hopefully, I'm not telling you what you already know---Keep telling him "no" EVERY time you see a "wee wee spot".  Place his nose towards his "wee wee" and tell him "no" or--depending on your style of training, shaking a can of pennies might work,--or a rolled up piece of paper (not anything big enough to hurt him---since he's so small---just to mainly make noise).  Then make sure you take him straight outside, rub his nose in the grass and spend a couple minutes praising him.  It might sound silly praising him right after you scold him, but that way he associates going wee wee in the house with bad and going outside, good.

I hope this helps!  All i can say is he is still a puppy.  It took my roommate til her dog was 8 months old before he was potty trained!  Just be patient [:)]
