    German Shorthairs

Hey I haven't heard from you guys in a while so I wanted to share some more recent pics of my pride and joy.  Let me how your dogs are doing on training and stuff.

Did he unstuff his bed in the last shot or what?  Nice to see your guy again!
    • Gold Top Dog
Yes he did.  He is a stufficidal maniac!  That was an old sleeping blanket that I thought would be nice to curl up in for him, but as you can see he thought it was a better idea to take out some stuffing and that use it as a pillow.   Good thing for him that he is such a good bird dog.

OMG...Andy loves to take the stuffing out of EVERYTHING. Every time I turn around I'm picking up balls of polyfil. He loves tearing anything and everything apart.

I need to get him out doing more. In 5 months he's put on quite a bit of weight and it's slowed him down quite a bit. He's turned into a total couch potato. I know he's weighing about 85+ lbs now.   I've about giving up on trying to train him. He is just NOT interested at all. He's over 4 yrs old and all he knows how to do is sit, shake, beg, lie down and roll over , hi-5 and sometimes he'll come when you call him, but not if he's outside.  I've never met a dog that was so 'slow'. On the other hand.. I can't get my Min Pin to do much either. My JRT and Lab are the smart ones out of the bunch.

Well it seems to me that Andy knows how to do a lot of different tricks and is smart enough to know when he got it good.  For awhile Hawk wouldn't come either.  He would just look at me like he was giving me the #1 sign.  I nipped that in the bud fast though.  And  it is comforting to know that I do not have the only stufficidial maniac.  Hawk in definately not a couch potato however, and not anywhere close to 85 lbs.  He tops the scales at a whopping 54 lbs.  He is a lean, mean, big running, bird finding machine.

Oh man I love them!!  I like the last picture the best with their cute bottoms.  Too bad we couldn't all meet and let our dogs run and play together.  It would be fun, we could have competitions, like who can destuff the toy the fastest.  J/K  But I am always on the look out for other GSP owners to share stories with.

The next field trial is coming up next month so since Hawk ;placed second in the last one I am setting our sites on first.  Of course just watching him run is great fun in of itself but nothing wrong with trying to be the best.  Anyway I hope the rest of you are doing great and lets see some more pics.

Speaking of shorthairs, I thought you all might like to see this gorgeous man!  I met him at a hunt test a few weekends ago. He had his conformation championship by 16 months of age.  I beleive he's about 2 and already competing in senior hunter!
