Most intimidating (as in looks)?  Hmm.  Dobermans are high up there in a regal way, but I also think breeds like Cane Corsos that are especially made to look intimidating.

I do plan on owning Giants or Briards one day.  I almost got an Affie (can you guys even picture me wtih an Affie?!) and decided against them.  There just wasn't enough I could do with them.
