any idea what breed she is?

Hi,
We just adopted Josie here. The shelter said she was a jack russell mix. A friend thinks she's a boston terrier. Another friend thinks rat terrier, and I think that fits the most. Any ideas?

Oh definately a Rattie! I know brindle is not an accepted color for a Rat, but they are out there. In the development of the Rat terrier, the basenjis was used and they do look a lot like basenjis in many respects so it could be hard to tell a Rat mix versus a basenji mix, but that docked tail and something about the head make me think she's all Rat. congrats on your new baby. I think Ratties are really cool dogs, but I have basenjis so there may be a bit of a bias there.

I would say possibly a fox terrier. I had a ratty and her head wasn't that squared but I met a fox terrier this last weekend and she had that exact same look except she was really overweight. She is cute though.

She looks like she could be Basenji mixed with Chihuahua, Rat Terrier or Toy Fox Terrier.

I thought maybe Basenji, but I'm not a hound or terrier person and I though Basenji's were more rare. I do see rat terrier puppies at EVERY puppy store I've been to that unfortunately carries puppies.
