Those are cute dogs!! Have a question that maybe you JRT people can answer. Why did the rename the breed from Jack Russell Terrier to Parson Russell Terrier?
LOL that part confuses a lot of people what with the Aussy JRT's parsons, Jack russells. LOL
OK A JRT and a ParsonRT are the same basically, just depends on the registry, JRTCA calls theirs JRT's and truly was the first JRT reg in the US. The AKC came along later and wanted to acknowledge the breed but the JRTCA had a big to do about it and the only way the AKC could do it was call them parson Russell Terriers. Many of hte PRT dogs come from JRTCA stock, and the build is about the same, you want a square boxy type dog. Now you get into the shorties or the ones that are longer then they are tall and you'll find them called everythign from Puddin's to english JRT's, to now Aussie JRT's. Depends on who you talk to and what reg they are in, everyone has to have their own little group with their 'own' type of jacks. LOL I hate to say that but in the JRT world it is so.
A jack is a jack is a jack trutfully, the different types are little more than differnt body types just as there are different coat types and it's been proven that one body type can sire another body type.
