any hope for ilp's?

probably, I have seen labs far less lab looking ILP

First one most definately I think could ILP as a lab.
 
Second one,  I don't think BC will work.  I will have to look around.
 
I heard that they are going to get tighter on the ILP process since the invitationals this last year.  Don't know what that means though.

i do understand about the ilp/competition thing...i just would have to travel several 100 miles if we don't compete thru the akc.  any other ideas or suggestions as i know snoopy  may not ilp at all
if you saw ruby in person, she really is more of a flat-coated retriever, but i'll stick with the lab if we try for our ilp.  i know they're either mixed breed or actually they're probably mountain curs, but since we found them abandoned, we'll never really know. 
i just know they're smart and full of life and i've enjoyed these dogs more than any other in my life[] and we want to do things with these pups!  snoopy is turning into a frisbee freak, too, so if i can get him to stop playing tug at the end of each throw, we might check into disc dog! 

I've seen purebred BCs that looked less like BCs than Snoopy. Go ahead and give it a whirl. But with the Border Collies it will depend on who's looking that day. If it's someone really familar with working lines, you're home free. But I've known some people have their ILP's rejected when they knew the dog was purebred - because the show BC looks so extremely different.

Don't forget there's flyball in addition to disc dog. There's two organizations now - U-FLI and NAFA - your dogs don't have to be registered in anything for that.

And if you have AKC agility in your area it's amazing that there's no trials with USDAA/NADAC/CA, - er, what's the Canadian org? CAA I think. I forget where you are. Sometimes you have to get involved to find out for sure. Sometimes a club is just waiting for interest to offer what you need.

thanks for the info/input...i will look into some of these others, too.  i could probably travel 3-4 hrs. to louisville/greater louisville area for disc dog events.  i'm just looking into everything to see what the right combination will be for us!
