Can anybody tell what breed these puppies' father was?

Their mother is a schnauzer, and she came to the foster home pregnant so we don't know any information about the father. I've attached pictures of the mother and her puppies, does anybody have any idea what the father might be? I was thinking it is possibly a rottweiler but I'm no expert. I'd appreciate any input anybody has!

    The mother:

    And here are the puppies

Hmmm, that's a tough one. They're all VERY cute!! [:)] They seem to have the Schnauzer ears and wiry hair. I'm thinking maybe German Shepherd... it's possible too that the puppies could have different dads. With the tan colored one I'm thinking maybe Lab? Or it's possible that they have the same dad and he was a mixed breed... Really there are LOTS of possibilities!

I was thinking something terrier..cairn terrier, border terrier..I'm not that familiar with terriers to be honest though...

    They are sweet though!

I was thinking Border Terrier.  The puppy in the first puppy pic and the one in the last one look a lot like a dog my mother had and his brother.  They're mother was a Poodle/Schnauzer mix.  Dad was a stray that ended up at the mom's owner's house.  He was described to us as a terrier mix.

If the father was a Rott/Lab mix, that would go a long way to explain the different colorings and the shape of their forelegs (nobody ever seems to look at that). Those aren't Schnauzer legs; my best friend has always had Schnauzers, and they're not all that robust, especially at that age.

    Just my $.02.

It is also possible that they had different fathers.  One bitch can carry puppies from different fathers in one litter.

I didn't know that they could have different fathers, interesting. Thanks for all the input so far, keep the ideas coming if you have more ideas!
