HELP!! Any idea what he is????

Hello everyone. This is my rescue Drano. (he was rescued from a storm drain last Easter) He just turned a year old and we still don't know what he is. He weighs around 65 pounds. Does anyone have any ideas?

    probably a mix of a mix...from what I see.
Dobe, GSD, Rottie might be in there somewhere....and something about the eyes and muzzle make me think sighthound....anyone else see that? Standing shots from the side are generally the most helpful.

Here's Motown my mothers dog....she's a confirmed Rottie, Husky, Akita. You can see the Rottie and Akita in the chunkier muzzle. Your dog has such a slender muzzle that makes me lean more towards Dobe than Rottie...Motown is 10 now and weighs around 70lbs.

I thought sighthound too, almost immediately.  The look in the eyes and the way the nose angles down a little...that almost no chin look...   Very sighthoundy.  Not so much in the body though from what I can see.  I would say most likely sighthound is a Greyhound.  And that coloring has to come from something and I'd opt Shepherd or Dobe, or maybe even both.  If I had to pick just two breeds to make it simple I would say Shepherd/Greyhound X.

I'd say there's definitely some doeberman and shepherd in there perhaps with a little something else.  Lovely dog!

I thought doberman and greyhound as well.  What an adorable puppy he was!

Looks a GSD x Rottie to me. Very prettie.

Thank you guys so much for your imput.  I definitly think he has doberman in him after your replies. [sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif]

He's gorgeous. Those wide-set eyes, the long tail, and the set of his ears say "greyhound," but the markings and the stronger build definitely look Dobie or Rottie.

My original thought was Whippet/Rottie (and I hope the Whippet was the sire!)
