The papillon reunion...

One more thing...what other breed can boast about "zoomies"  Papillon zoomies are the best of fun!

Hiya Tranzwarp!  Welcome to the board.  Aren't Paps the bestest?  I've *never* been a small dog person but, wow, Paps aren't small dogs.  At least no one told them they were.  I think we have to see pictures of your babies, though.

papillontaxi, Aspen doesn't really do zoomies.  He *does* go nutso when I pull his food out & take it to his dining room.  It's so adorable. ~L~
So you do Pap rescue?  VERY cool.  I may be PMing you sometime in the future.
    • Gold Top Dog
Yes, photos are needed from both of you.  ;)

More photos, cause you can never have enough pap photos:

Here's some of the extended family:

    Watchdogs!

    Harry with Great Grandma

    Beau with sister

Sorry, enough extended family pictures.  Papillons are amazing though.

I lovelovelove the watchdog pack!  [:D]  Too too too much cuteness for me.

I love to see pappy pictures :) Laurelin, yours are too gorgeous. I wish I could keep my little gremlin so clean! Is that flying ring thing by chance a "heave a beaver"? I bought one of those for Rascal yesterday but the little booger doesn't like it.

Papillontaxi, I love zoomies too. [:)] Rascal does "zoomies" after baths, foot washings, foot wipes, nail trimming, or any other escape from certain death. Also before walks, after walks, and when discussing the possibility of future walks. Cracks me up every time.

Tranz - what color are your little ones?

And a picture of post-bath craziness because pictures are fun - Rascal, Terrorizer of Toes!

The high point of my day is walking in the door after work and being greeted by the "wiggles". I just uploaded a picture...we'll see if it worked.

    • Gold Top Dog
Oh, what a cutie!! How old is he? Can't wait to see pictures when his little ear hairs grow out! [:)]
    • Gold Top Dog
Such pretty babies everyone.  They're all so gorgeous.

    Harold again

    I forgot that puppy picture...
    • Gold Top Dog
tranzwarp, your Pap is aDORable!!!  How old is he?  I love Pap pups.  They're like a little mystery.  You have no clue how they're going to feather out.  MORE pictures!!!

Lauren, you're killing me with pictures of Harold.  I *love* his mask, but you know that. [:)]
    • Gold Top Dog
Hehe, sorry, I'll stop.  Don't want to kill anyone.  ;)

Oh, I just ordered the PCA annual magazine this year.  Stinky is in the part showing all the dogs that placed at specialties in 2006.  Now I must wait for it to come in the mail...

Anyone going to PCA Nationals in Texas?
    • Gold Top Dog
I may go, I really want to, but we won't be showing.

Kodi is on the right  (male), and Gracie is on the left (female). They are both approaching 11 mos. Kodi had somehow fractured the ball in his left hip joint, and had orthopedic surgery just over 2 weeks ago. I've heard that paps are a very tough breed, and Kodi is no exception. He was in a lot of pain after the surgery for about 4 days. However, he managed to get through it and bounce back to his normal, love-everyone self. Gracie is a little more independent, but has to sleep wrapped around somebody.

I have never seen a more intelligent, and keenly-aware dog as Kodi. I can talk to him like I would our 2-legged kids, and he seems to understand a great deal of what I say. Paps are the only dogs for us. We got Kodi, became hooked, and had to have another.

Now, when any dog show comes on tv, we cheer on the pap.

Oh duh!  you do have 2 different pups.  Don't mind me.  I'm a space cadet some days. ~L~  I get the wiggles from Grady (the All American) Aspen (the Pap) gives me jumpies when I walk in.  There's no better greeting in the world than one given by your puppers, IMHO.

Okay, so I've been trying to explain to non-Papillon people (and non-small breed people in general) what papillons are like and I'm having trouble.  How would you describe the breed to someone with no knowledge?  It seems a lot of people imagine docile little lap dogs...
