Has anyone out there (besides us), adopted a "flunk out" from a Dog Guidence agency? Our 18 month old Lab flunked with a score of 90, because she dosn't like being groomed. We have not yet received her, but we have heard so many wonderful things about her, I'm considering becoming handicapped in some manner, just to use all of her training!

Any suggestions will be very welcome.

    Ditto.

I have a service dog flunk out- my Indy, who *I* flunked out of psychiatric service dog training because he's too social with strangers.

Congrats on the new addition to your family! Let us know how it goes once you get her & welcome to the forum! [sm=smile.gif]

You'll figure out ways to use that training without, er, whatever you meant. Agility and flyball use targeting quite a bit, and you can transfer other skills to parlor tricks to keep your new dog's mind busy. Oh, and how about freestyle/dog dancing? Fun stuff and your dog already has the basics, probably.

    Good luck!

My Aunt and Uncle have a CCI flunkie, a black lab named Etta.  She came back to her puppy raiser, my Aunt's best friend, because she is afraid of loud noises.  It turns out the rest of her litter was the same way, which makes us think something scary happened to them at a critical time.  Other than that she is fabulous.  One of the most gentle, sociable labs I've met.  Here she is with her "brother" and my boys.  I'd love to adopt a service dog dropout someday.  Seems like a great way to go!
