So, my friend has a Boxer named Taz (short for Tazmanian Devil [
]). He's not a show Boxer and is almost completely white...a total goof and not the brightest but definitely a loveable sap! His muscles and his coat...I love them, I can't stop looking at them. I've never seen a dog with such a composition.
Anyways, my friend says that it's not just Taz who is "not the brightest". He says that all Boxers are a little on the dopey, slow side. Really?? Is this true?? I've always heard they were intelligent, alert dogs.
Some of you on here may know I want to breed in the future, on the side from what my other job is. Not to earn money...simply because I find it fascinating and I want to better whatever breed I chose. Anyhow, I really am seriously considering the Boxer. I'm fairly new to the breed, so besides my question above, I have a few more =). Hopefully there's a few Boxer people here [
].
-What do Boxers specialize in, in terms of showing? Conformation, perhaps?
-The above question about intelligence...I'm just curious. I do realize they are clowns and quite silly sometimes, but would one be so bold as to say, like my friend, that they are not bright and very slow at learning?? [&:]
-Cropping, docking? This is necessary for this breed if you were going to show/breed them professionally, right? Mmmm...I'm always torn on this subject
.
*Sigh* I had a few more questions in mind but they aren't coming to me now. Well, any other general tips?
Thanks a bundle!!! [
