What breed would you like to have?

What breed would you like to have?

If you had unlimited time, money, and space - what breed or breeds would you like to share your life with?

My son Joey has announced he wants a toy poodle. It would be the perfect dog for him. Wah, no more room at the inn.

My hubby wants an Irish Wolfhound. Ditto no room. But it suits him so much, basically lazy, majestic, and occaisonally active.

PJ likes beagles, but I'm not sure he actually wants to share his life with one. His ideal pet is a penguin - clean, slow-moving, funny. He liked penguins long before it was "cool" to like them.

But anyway. I have several wishful thinking breeds, of course. I'd love to try to train a Beardie to do the big sheepdog course. I'd love to have a Spanish Water Dog. I think Havanese sound really neat. And I'd absolutely pave my home with rescue greyhounds. I do think I've persuaded my hubby to consider a rescue grey instead of an IWH. [;)]

I AM thinking awfully hard about that toy poodle for Joey. Hmmm. I already have the grooming setup. Somebody STOP me . . .

There are a few breeds I would like to have. First off, I would like to have another border collie. I got my chance to have a corgi, so that one's off the list for a while, although I have to say, they are awesome dogs and I wouldn't mind having another. I want an ACD pretty bad, due to sortof stealing one who was abused, after getting to know her. I surrendered her to a local rescue and they found her a proper home (at the time I wasn't able to keep her, and was pretty broken up about it). I sure do miss her... Later on down the road when I am more prepared, I would also like to have a pit bull. Haven't decided if I'm going to go for rescue or a REALLY good breeder for that one...

I want a doberman. I don't care the color, I just want one.
I want more APBTs (they are my loves).
I, too, would like an Irish Wolfhound or a Scottish deerhound.
    I want a greyhound.
I want a basenji and a pharaoh hound.

I WANT AN ENGLISH BULLDOG WHEN I'M 70.

    K? thanks.[;)]

I want a Border Terrier most, and I WILL have one as soon as it is possible (probably after college at the earliest).  Other than that, I want a standard manchester, an american eskimo, a miniature poodle, a curly coated retriever, a parson russell, and an english cocker at some time during my lifetime!  Borders are definitely the priority though :P

I would go to a rescue for your future pit bull. I mean, you've got a better guarantee from a reputable breeder, but depending on what you want to do with the dog and/or what you're willing to do, I suggest adopting.
There are plenty of adopted pit bulls that do agility, weight pulling, and are therapy dogs.
When I adopted Ella, I adopted the best dog I've EVER owned in my life. I'm going to enjoy my years with her because I'm POSITIVE that there's not many out there as good as she is.

Sorry, heh, I didn't mean to go on with the whole "adopt a pit bull" song and dance. Those who prefer buying from reputable breeders have their reasons and that's OK with me[:D]

I'm on the hunt for a Cirneco at the moment, which is proving difficult.

I'd have one of them, and a Scottish Deerhound as well, since that was one of my first dogs ever. I'd love to have another one.

ZOMG, Kenna is on idog now?  xD Missed your intro.

Anyways, back to the actual question, there are very few dog breeds that I really really want to have, but there are plenty I like and wouldn't mind having, haha.

I want another papillon for my next dog
And I really really really want an Ibizan and I will have one eventually, but now is really not the right time.  (Unfortunately)
I also really want a mutt (rescue) some time in the near future.

Other than that, I'd love to have more shelties and another GSD eventually.  I like most dogs, so I'd really take about anything.

I have this funny feeling, though, that I'll belong to papillons for the majority of my life.  [:)]

Much like brookecove, there is no room at the inn.  But if there were room, I would have about 10 more dobermans. I would really like to try a presa canario, and of course a standard poodle. What can I say, I like variety.

I'd have a house full of Tollers, one Belgian (Tervuren or Groenendael), and one Mudi. I'd like to also have one Kooikerhondje someday, but they are difficult to find. "My" breed is definitely the Toller though and it is the only breed I wish to have throughout my entire life. The other three mentioned above are just for something different to own as I do like to have one different breed amongst a bunch of the same breed for some reason. That being said, I don't want to own any more than one of any of those three breeds (at the moment anyway - perhaps I'll change my mind after living with one, but I doubt it). There is truly no breed more perfect for me than the Toller...I can hardly wait to have a purebred of my own in a couple years - after I get my first, I'll never be without one again.

I'm the same way.  As much as I've loved all my shelties and my other dogs, papillons are definitely 'my' breed.  (Ironic because I always considered myself a large dog person and definitely not a toy person) I can't imagine life without a Pap now.

I'm waiting for a French Bull dog.
To show in Obed and conformation(always up for a challange).

From what I have read about them, I think a dobe would fit me best.

I also want an Irish wolfhound, an aussie, and either a whippet or a greyhound.
As far as small dogs, I want a pom, and probably another lhasa.

A Leonberger, a Hovawart, and a Belgian Tervueren.

I'm still covetous of a purebred bloodhound. I was actually *thisclose* to calling up the local bloodhound rescue when Marlowe came strolling into my life. I hear they are even more stubborn, ridiculous and challenging than coonhounds, so I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment. There are a couple that sometimes go to the dog park and when I see them I just want to ssssquuiiiissshhhh them to bits. Seriously, is there anything on the planet cuter than a bloodhound puppy?

I'd love to have a rhodesian ridgeback and a border collie (have a mix now). I'm also becoming a big fan of little terriers, like the rat terrier and smooth fox terrier.
