    What breeds HAVE you owned?

Over the course of your life, what are ALL the breeds you have owned?

Growing up, we had quite a few dogs. Most of them were really my mother's...I never really cared for small dogs or labs, and that seemed to be all my parents wanted. The two Daisy's, my shar-pei's, were my first official dogs, and they taught me ALOT. They were incredibly strong, intelligent, willfull dogs. Without them I doubt I'd have a clue what to do with Ogre.

Anyway, the dogs I had growing up:

    Bear, a Samoyed
    Buddy, a Black Lab
    Ben, a Westie
    Brad, a chocolate lab
2 Shar- Peis, both named Daisy
    Sugar, a miniature poodle
    Maddison, a lab/chow mix

    and my current three:
    Axl, an american/english bulldog mix
    Ogre, and akita
    Pepito, a chihuahua

I also spent ALOT of time with the neighborhood dogs, training them, playing with them, walking them, and dogsitting them when their owners were out of town, etc. Some memorable ones who taught me ALOT about training and dog behavior. I'm listing them because often they spent the day at my house while their owners were at work,  I spent almost as much time with them as my own dogs, and as a kid, I really considered them partially mine.

    Nike, a great dane
    King, an akita
    Sasha, a rottie
Tolouse, a presa canario with a little bit of something else
    Otis, an english mastiff
Kerra and Tasey, sheltie/BC crosses, and THE smartest dogs I've ever met.
    Davey, an APBT

There HAVE to be others, but my brain isn't cooperating at the moment.

I know there's a thread open about what breeds you own now, but what about the breeds you had growing up? What breeds/individual dogs that weren't necessarily your own left an impression on you and why?

Conrad and Marlowe are only dogs #2 and #3 for me, but dog #1 was Ananda, an Akita x GSD. Gorgeous dog, amazing personality, sort of the best of both breeds (with a whole lot of stubborn thrown in!). Amazingly friendly given his mix, but extremely self-confident. I think he was friendly because he pretty much knew that he could own anyone who tried to get away with anything around him.

With my family (I'll leave out names, this might get long)

3 Dachshunds, Collie mix (my heart dog), 2 Golden Retrievers, 2 Black Labs, Chocolate Lab, Irish Setter, 2 Dalmations, Brittany, Rottweiler, Chow, Blue Heeler mix

On my own (or with my ex-husband)

2 Border Collies, Whippet mix, Sheltie mix, Rottweiler, Pit bull mix, Australian Shepherd mix, Cocker Spaniel, Chow

I love that my entire family is animal lovers, and that led to exposure to so many breeds, and all but two were rescues, so that taught me a great many lessons. There are some I would never choose to own (goldens, too needy) and some I will always own (some kind of herder, love that energy), but I still love them all.

According to my parents, we had a Brittany and a mixed breed dog when I was little. When I was old enough to remember, we had Dobes, a White German Shepherd, Boxer, Rottweiler, Borzoi and Boston Terriers.

    I personally have had :

    Rory, my current dog-APBT
    Prissy, A American Cocker Spaniel

I'm only 24 so I havnt had long to have my own dogs. I consider my vhildhood dogs mine as well since they were my best friends and part of my chores.

Bosso- A wolf hybrid mixed with German Shepherd, we had him only until he was two becuase he was really hard to contain and train. He ended up at a sanctuary owned by Dorsi Day and we vosited him until he died at the age of 9. He was great with me, my mother, and father but visitors of any kind were not welcome.
We had a German Sheperd/chow mix that was my best friend
Dad always had hunting dogs in the kennels that I wasnt allowed to interact with.
My uncle always had pit bulls and they were all great.
My aunt bred rotties for 13 uears and they were the best playmates!

Funny, I just realized we are not a fan of small dogs, the only reason I had the cocker was becuase of those darn Isatoner Slipper commercials around xmas where the dog brings santa the slippers, ha ha I wanted one since I was little. She lived to be 8, died of cancer
