Over the course of your life, what are ALL the breeds you have owned?
Growing up, we had quite a few dogs. Most of them were really my mother's...I never really cared for small dogs or labs, and that seemed to be all my parents wanted. The two Daisy's, my shar-pei's, were my first official dogs, and they taught me ALOT. They were incredibly strong, intelligent, willfull dogs. Without them I doubt I'd have a clue what to do with Ogre.
Anyway, the dogs I had growing up:
Bear, a Samoyed
Buddy, a Black Lab
Ben, a Westie
Brad, a chocolate lab
2 Shar- Peis, both named Daisy
Sugar, a miniature poodle
Maddison, a lab/chow mix
and my current three:
Axl, an american/english bulldog mix
Ogre, and akita
Pepito, a chihuahua
I also spent ALOT of time with the neighborhood dogs, training them, playing with them, walking them, and dogsitting them when their owners were out of town, etc. Some memorable ones who taught me ALOT about training and dog behavior. I'm listing them because often they spent the day at my house while their owners were at work, I spent almost as much time with them as my own dogs, and as a kid, I really considered them partially mine.
Nike, a great dane
King, an akita
Sasha, a rottie
Tolouse, a presa canario with a little bit of something else
Otis, an english mastiff
Kerra and Tasey, sheltie/BC crosses, and THE smartest dogs I've ever met.
Davey, an APBT
There HAVE to be others, but my brain isn't cooperating at the moment.
I know there's a thread open about what breeds you own now, but what about the breeds you had growing up? What breeds/individual dogs that weren't necessarily your own left an impression on you and why?
