    Help Identify a rescue!

This guy is gonna go up on petfinder as soon as his pelvi (broken) heals, but we don't know what he is! Suggestions have been GSD mix (the fur and slight darkness on his nape and ruff screams GSD), Shiba Inu mix, shepherd mix etc....he is 25 lbs but underweight, so will top out about 30-35, and is about 22 inches at the shoulder

Back in the picture section it reminds me of the  dogs in Lazy Day Dogs sort of. Maybe ask what her dogs are.

Definitely NOT Shiba Inu.  That one can be eliminated.  If I were listing him, I would probably list him as a Shepherd mix.  Possibly lab because his hair looks like the right texture and length.  I think hes probably a mix of a ton of different dogs though.  Nothing stands out very well.  He is very pretty though and looks very sweet.

I don't know if you have seen, the Korean dogs that show up on the food market, sick but true. When I first saw it thats what I thought of. Though its probally just a mix.

He is most likely a mixture of several different breeds.  I know you can't just list one on petfinder as a "mix", though.  I've had some dogs I had no idea what they were, but had to list them as something, lol!

I would list him a Shepherd/Retriever mix.  Although, that technically should be a larger dog than just 25 pounds (presumably even if underweight.) unless he is still young.  Any idea on age?

Nothing about him really says shepherd to me other than his tail-that tail really looks shepherd-y to me, but I don't really know what he could be.  With his size, I'd think maybe a spitz type breed mix, but his tail and ears aren't right.

He's a cutie, thats for sure!  A total mix, 100%!  I hope that his pelvis heals and he gets a good home soon.

With his size, I'd think maybe a spitz type breed mix, but his tail and ears aren't right.

Agreed. And, though I don't think Petfinder does this, some shelters will "accidently" mislabel a breed mix to give it a better chance of being adopted.

The coat/color looks like my Maggie dog.  She's a Finnish spitz mix.

Thanks guys! Yeah I thought spitz too but I can't get over how different the tail is. He is somewhere between 1 and 1 & 1/2. He'll probly go up as a shep mix. You can't tell much from the pics but he has a nice thick coat, expecially around his neck.

I agree with the labrador/shepherd mix.  He looks exactly like my first doggie, Max, color and everything, and that's what he was listed as at the shelter...
