Us hound people seem to be short in supply on this forum.  I grew up with Beagles and admire that it is a huge dog in a small package-they are smart, fun loving, tough as nails, strong as oxes, and usually stubborn as mules.  Since growing up and having my own home, I have moved up and enjoy the challenges of larger hounds.  Currently have a treeing walker coonhound and and Irish wolfhound.  I have also had a dobie, a couple of german shepherds now, great dogs, but somehow just not
like my hounds.   I really love the social aspect of hounds-nobody can really call them aloof within their family pack.   And they are certainly challenging in the obedience department.  I respect them and enjoy reaching the point of cooperation, because I don't think anyone ever truly owns a hound-the other way around is probably more accurate

I think coonhounds may be some of the most under-rated breeds out there. Most places I go with Marlowe either no one has ever heard of a coonhound or they can't believe I have one as a pet and think I'm nuts.

But he's just a perfect pet. Cuddles like a champ, smells like a stale Frito! That's my coonhound!

I made the mistake of going to the American Black & Tan Coonhound Rescue website and my god, all those gorgeous, wonderful, sweet hounds who need homes. It broke my heart into a zillion pieces!

I love rotties, dobermans, english mastiffs in the large dogs.  Malti-poos, poms, min pins in the small dogs

My favorite breed is the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Others I love: Dachshunds, Beagles, Maltese, Goldens. I think I would like some of the sighthounds too, if I had the opportunity to meet them.
