thanks. she's definitely mostly poodle, but we don't know the rest of her. we got her from a shelter in ecuador, of all places. we needed a non-shedding dog (landlady stipulation), and i grew up with mini poodles so know they are generally good pets to have (smart, affectionate, not barky etc.) we used petfinder.com to locate a young, female poodle and she is the one that popped up, so we worked with their sister shelter in NYC to apply for her. we know she was with a family that decided having a pet was "too much trouble" so took her to be euthanized at 18 months. (can you imagine.) it's clear she was also kicked around some, as she cowers in fear if you come at her too quickly. fortunately she was rescued and is now exactly where she is supposed to be -- with us! she's very, very cuddly, sweet, smart, and is getting more playful as she gets more comfortable with us. i was the one to pick her up from the airport so she is extremely attached to me -- follows me from room to room and gets worried if i walk outside to get the mail! she'll eventually realize i'm not going to abandon her, i think, and will settle down a bit. we are totally in love with her!
