    Chihuahuas

A discussion among chihuahua owners. I have a chihuahua/terrior mix 3 mo old named Tucker. Extremly intelligent, gives and demands attention affectionate and loyal . He loves curling up in my lap and taking a nap.Just started teaching him basic commands and he learned sit in less then a day. Stay however I'm having trouble with but that's alright he's only 3 mo old .Here he is:

     Tucker is soCUTE
I have a chihuahua he was given to us when my future inlaws moved and couldnt' take him with them, he is an older dog, before we got him he was aloud to rome the streets, how he survived I do not know, but I love him to bits, they really do grown on you, he loves to go everywhere with me and will curl right into me when I sleep, now that I have experienced owning a chihuahua I want more, so I can't wait to have our own ;property where I can breed them.

Ah yes. I'd love another as well. Butwe can't right now because we live in a tralier park and are allowed only 1 pet or so the r'ules say although are neighbors behind us blatently disreguard that which as you can tell by my ranting peeves me off. But we're moving next year so prehaps I can. I've offered to pay the vet bills so hopefully it'll happen. And someday I hope to breed chihuahuas as well that and train a couple in agility.

Not to rain on your parade, but, I do hope you realize that breeding any dog requires proving the potential breeding pair, typically in the show ring, testing for any and all genetic conditions common to the breed, and only then, getting ready for the heartbreak that can come with breeding.  Pups die.  Pups are stillborn.  Bitches reject the litter, develope mastitious and can't feed them, sometimes bitches die.  Then you have pups to place ONLY in responsible homes and you MUST be willing to take back those pups at ANY time in their lifetime in the initial placement doesn't work out for whatever reason.

There is a LOT involved in being a responsible breeder vs a backyard breeder, and heaven knows the world has enough of those!

Yes I know.I plan on educating myself as best I can but it was just a thought I won't neccicarily do it.

I have already contacted breeders awhile ago to find out the pitfulls and joys of breeding with such a small breed and has for the things that can go wrong I breed welsh cross ponies and the things that can go wrong, the added expenses the heartach of selling them later hopeing that they all end up in good lifetime homes ,so I am well aware of what can and does happen.
I am not planing on large scale breeding just as I do with my ponies, some I plan to keep myslef and others would find approved homes.
This is one of my many plans in life as we all know our plans don't always go they way we want to.
