Kooikerhondje

I would love to get a kooikerhondje but i dont no where to get one from, i have already checked out the resuce centres and they dont have any, where could i find a breeder.
Or does anyone have any tips on living with a kooikerhondje?

Kooikers are gorgeous dogs. I'd love to have one (along with all of my Tollers) but they are so hard to come by. They're a very active breed, very intelligent, but also very, very sensitive. I only know of one good breeder in the US and am not sure of any in any other part of the world as I haven't looked into finding a breeder really seriously as of yet.

I have seen one kooikerhondje come through my classes, and it was a nice dog, but only because the owner socialized the living heck out of it. Kooikerhondje's are another of the breeds that gets very reserved with strangers (and can get snippy). So, the same caveat applies to people who want one of these dogs as to those who want Aussies, or Tollers, for that matter. They aren't for everyone, and you need to do some research and find a really good breeder. They are quite beautiful, though.

Here's some UKC registered breeders. If you can get in contact with the breed club, they should be able to point out some breeders that are in good standing with the club.
