    any ideas?

I originally joined the forums, just like many other people probably, when I had a question that was concerning me about my dog's health...but now that is taken care of, I decided to post a formal introduction.

I'm Jada, and Jack is my pooch and he was an adopted pup that I wish I had before and after pictures of (I have the after, but the before pictures looked like a mangy mutt that had LOTS of worms), he's about 16 months old now.  I was wondering, besides the lab obviously, what else he had in him. Someone suggested terrier???? I thought Mountain Cur...but, maybe not.

    Any other suggestions?

If it weren't for the white markings, I'd say he's a purebred lab! Lots of breeds have markings like his, so it'll be hard to tell. If his side is accurate with that of a lab, you can conclude that his other half is a dog about that same size. You may be able to tell more if you take into account his behavior... does he "herd"? Does he "trail"?
He's very pretty. If he were mine, and I HAD to guess his other half, I think I'd say.....some type of hound?

Thanks for responding, I of course am just curious, I want to know what my dog "is" :)

He's 75 pounds right now, but he currently has a little extra padding (which we're trying to correct at the moment.) He appears to be at a stable weight though, in other words, he doesn't seem to be growing anymore. When we got him, he started off at 16 pounds (about 14-16 weeks old probably), and boy, I wish those were the days still [:D] Now he's a BIG lap dog.

I'm not sure what you mean by trailing, because I only had bichons growing up, this is my first "big" dog. But, he points! He doesn't herd I don't think. He definitely goes on the prowl though sniffing and smelling in the grass. Thanks for the additional insight :)

    Anymore would be appreciated!! =)
