Is my boy Sheltie or Aussie mix?

Is my boy Sheltie or Aussie mix?

So he's been here for 3 wks and 3 days. Fitting in well, and his itching seems to be resolving  well and his bald spots are growing hair back.

I've name him D. Annakin (or D'Annakin - D in memory of another dog, danny joe, and Annakin as in the Norwegian masculine of Hannah and means grace and favor, also makes nice nickname D'Anni)

he's a wiggle butt. Say something to him he wiggles and waggles, look at him same thing, walk into the room  etc etc. happy little guy, but settles down well, and loves to snuggle. He does take his toy and a couple of chewie treats, gathers them  in a circle and then goes to sleep. But he  does not "guard" them nor does he become aggressive over them. yay.  his ears tip, but at times *** up, and he carries his tail in a spitz  kind of way.

he's supposedly best guess, mostly sheltie, but his nose and head are not shaped quite right. His coat remains to be seen as to how full and fluffy it may get that will take some time.

    >>>forgot to add he's  appx 12-15'"  high and 18 lbs.  he also likes to talk to you when he gets "happy"

    Any suggestions?

He may have some shelti or even collie in him but it's almost mixed in there too well to even guess. Either way he is a very lovely looking dog!

I say he has some sort of Spitz-type dog in him since his tail is flipped up and over his back.  Whatever he has in him, he is gorgeous!!

Hi, I definately see a Sheltie with the type of hair he has. I had a Sheltie for 14 years, great dog! but barked a lot [;)] He is a really pretty dog!!!

Wow!  What a beautiful boy!  Except for the tail, he looks like an Australian Shepherd.to me. He might even have Border Collie in him.  I've seen a few BCs with a tail like that.  That would explain his legs, too, they look a tad long for an Aussie.  I know, I've already said it, but it deserves repeating- boy, he sure is beautiful!

In a breed that's normally docked...like Aussies....the tail can do any number of things when left on. No attetion has been paid to it as to carriage, length, or set.....SO anything goes! He is a lovely dog and the talking makes me think Sheltie....I think Sheltie x Aussie is as good a guess as any [;)]

Oh, and I had an Aussie Dobe X (two normally docked breeds) and he carried his tail exactly like that...and it was quite "fully furnished" as well, he was also black and tan, with miminal white tho.

thanks everyone. He's easy to fall head over heels for.

He's  pretty hilarious when he gets going... his vocals range from a gutteral play grunt/growl....to little "monkey grunts" to yaps barks and ROOOOS .....

here's one last pic  ( for now) [;)]

Now in that pic, I can see some Sheltie.  Here's a thought, he could be a Sheltie/Mini Aussie (aka North American Shepherd)mix.  He sounds like quite a character.  I bet he's a blast to be around!
    • Gold Top Dog
oh yeah he's a real character!  Sometimes my  very laid back couch tater husky looks at him like huh? She secretly finds him amusing....shhh don't tell her I said that.....[:D]

Sometimes his posture -and his ears....when he's making faces at me playing, his hears will prick, tip and move around like a cats-
reminds me of a pomeranian. He was rescued from a shelter in an area that has puppy mills, and it would not be impossible that he could be a byb version of a mini aussie or some kind  of sheltie mix.

He's 100% adorable rascal cuddle bug.

There's a dog at the daycare where I work who looks just like your dog. He is listed as an English Shepherd.

Are you asking me to post pics of the daycare dog? Hmm, maybe I should rephrase my original post... there's a dog at the daycare where I work who used to look just like your dog... until his owners shaved him! [:D]

If you'd like to see what your dog would look like shaved (except his head and tail), I could try to snap a pic with my cell phone. He only comes in every now and then though.

Wiggle butt sounds like an Aussie to me. Here is my Aussie at 1yr for a comparison.
