Alaskan huskies

Lol I don't think she looks like a Sibe at all!  Her muzzle is too thick or something...she just doesn't have the classic Siberian look that I picture when I hear the name.  Maybe it's just that she looks too lanky because that picture was taken after she must've blown coat.  If I saw her on the street I'd think Alaskan Husky right off the bat, though I agree that they usually have longer legs I think.

and this is why the people who actually race these dogs go on how well they work ,pull and run as opposed to how they look..

i love seeing the make up of different teams competing in different races, and seeing some that look like my girl...she is a very good puller as far as i know...that doesnt mean much i know because i have never actually seen in person or spent time on a team.i do know that she HATES to be behind any other dog when i am running or riding with her,and i think in these dogs, that attitude goes a long way toward bieng a race contending dog.

all in all tho...i love this girl, and its nice to just watch her or sit with her, rubbing her belly and massage her pads..lol..

Which pic are you referring to?

Anway, intially, there were also many looks to Siberian as they were bred for performance and temperment, rather than one look. Some can be piebald, bi-eyed, parti-eyed, etc. The black and white with blue eyes is just the scheme they picked for "Snowdogs."

It can be hard, to some extent, to pick out wolf without lineage papers but some features can be obvious. When I had Shadow at the vet's last December for his neuter op, they had in the kennels a Wolf/Siberian.
