The papillon reunion...

Thanks!  Is Kota part Pap?  He's adorable.  :)  I do agility too, in fact I went just last night.  I love it, it's so much fun!  Nai's favorite is the teeter above all else.

[sm=rotfl.gif]Naila you are amazing baby girl!
Welcome Laura, I love the video and my guys get turkey bacon too, and I say I could teach them to drive the car for a piece of bacon.

Naila's tricks remind me so much of Stinky.  They're such smart little dogs.

Thanks for the warm welcome!  :)  I'm glad you liked the video, it was so much fun to make.  I'm getting the itch to do another one.  And yes, they are such a smart breed.  It takes very little time to train Naila to do a trick.  Some take longer than others of course but once she gets it, it's set.

    Curious...
I am always on the lookout for Papillon items, pictures, license plates, etc.  my neatest find is an antique dog figurine...
So what is your neatest papillon related item?

p.s. if anyone knows I am on the lookout for  hand knit papillon sweater...
    • Gold Top Dog
papillontaxi, are you looking for a people sweater with a pap on it or a sweater that would fit your kiddo?

I'm always on the lookout for Papillon related stuff.  It's not all that easy to find.  I do most of my looking @ Dog events like shows, expos & the like.  I also look @ antique stores, flea markets, rummage sales....  I haven't found anything stellar yet.  Right now my favorite Pap related item is my "Obey the Papillon" t-shirt.

    Hi guys, newby here.
Your papillons are all really really adorable!  I've fallen in love with the breed and hope to be getting a puppy this summer.  So I have a question:  how long a walk do you guys give your papillons each day?  And/or other exercise?  Just so I'm prepared.

Welcome to the board!  From a person who was never a small dog person, I was taken by surprise just how hard I've fallen for my Pap.  My boys & I are starting an exercize program since we did nothing but sit on our fannys all winter long.  Since I have a fenced in yard I take the boys for about one good 45minute -1 hour walk a day & then the rest is just playing in the backyard.

Congrats on your Pap to be.  Warning, you can't have just one.  [:D]

So true, I was the same way.  I would NOT have a toy dog and now I'm infatuated.  They're really really neat little dogs.

And you can't just have one.

As for exercise, we live on a few acres, so we just let the boys run around in the back yard for a while (always with supervision of course)  They also get several good fetch games in.  They're amazing at retrieving, they pick things up so fast.  A lot faster than our field bred lab did and my father swears they outdo all his hunting dogs he had growing up.  The two boys also play with each other constantly.  They're active dogs, but a short walk and indoor play time should be enough exercise.  They love to play games and thrive off of human interaction.  The more interaction the better.

I don't know anyone who has a pap that doesn't like them.  You'll really be amazed if you get one.  I can't think of another breed remotely like them.

*sigh* So true that you can't have just one.  My hubby and I are looking to add to our little pack soon.  [;)]  As for exercise, a 30-45 minute walk on the weekdays and then longer walks on the weekends with a nice run off leash does the trick for us.  Lately we've been experiencing cold weather until just recently, so her walks really decreased during the week.  The good thing about that is that they make sure they get enough exercise through running around inside (zoomies).  I remember reading that in the breed books that I have -- that they adapt.  However, they really should get daily walks and so we are increasing now that we have daylight savings and have more daylight now.  Oh, I forgot to add that she also does agility once a week, so that helps too!
