    Thoughts for Kameo please?

Kameo is Alex's buddy. They've been together for 5 years of h*ll and back. Kameo's about 10 now, we think and is slowing down. But I noticed today that he wasn't lookin to good.

I could be wrong but I'm worried about him. Alex will fall apart when Kameo finally leaves us but I'm hoping now isn't his time. The weather is changing and his joints feel it (he annouces it.. Loudly.. Lol) So I'm praying, hard, that it's just the weather change and his joints are hurting. I'm going to increase his joint meds abit for the next couple weeks to help ease the pain.

Kameo has had a full physical recently and everything came back fine.  The cat and I have a love/hate relationship but he's been in my life for 4 years and I know that I'll miss the bugger when he dies.

But if I could get some prayers that he is just having an off day. But if it is his time, please give me the strength to let him go and help Alex through his passing.

is he on something for his joints? I have a 14 year old office cat, with cancer and arthritis. We decided to pull her from the adoption room - so now she lives in my medical office. anyways... we put her on a joint supplement when we noticed she wasn't able to jump up - now that cat never leaves my chair!

either way - good thoughts for him!

Erica: He's on a joint supplement I get at the petstore. I cleared it with his vet before I put him on it.  I started him on it when he went to jump and his hips popped last year.

He's looking better today. I increased his intake the other morning and he didn't even wait for me to mix it together. Lol! He just dive bombed the powder.  His energy level is almost back to normal so I guess I'm doing right so far.

    Thanks for the thoughts!

Some fish oil/fish might help, too... Rascal's arthritis has really dramatically improved this last year, and the only 2 major changes we've made were adding salmon to most of his meals and walking him on a leash and collar (as opposed to a harness) more often.

I hear Omega 3's are supposed to be good for joints and inflammation. Maybe a teaspoon of canned salmon every day might help?

fish oil is excellent for the joints (for both people and animals!)

What kind of stuff is he on? I'm using Cosequin for my old lady office cat - that stuff has worked wonders for her!

He's on some stuff called BioJoint.  My petstore doesn't have a large selection *sigh* down side to living in a small town. Lol. He's getting a lot better! He was snuggling the Cheeto's bag this morning.

Hmm Canned Salmon.. I don't think Kameo would ever leave the kitchen if I started feeding him that. Lol. He does however get seafood based wet food. I think I have a can of salmon around somewhere. No one eats it so I'll just feed it to him.

Can you please pray for Dakota 2 yr old Yellow Lab and Chyenne 4 month old Yellow Lab. They are sick! sick! sick! Please pray for speedy recoveries and good health! And they quit giving each other their colds and various ailments!

hmm - never heard of that one - but there are a lot of different brands out there. the cosequin I think you an only get through a vet.

fish oil is great, but I don't think fish based canned will have quite the same affect on him. canned salmon would be good, I'd think!

I'll have to pick him up some fish then when I go shopping next. He's never gonna leave the kitchen at this rate. lol!
